Family-Owned, Community-Focused: The Riccardo’s Story

Tucked in the heart of Beverly, NJ, Riccardo’s isn’t just a pizzeria—it’s a story. A story of family, tradition, resilience, and a whole lot of homemade sauce.
It all began in 1974, when a young Sicilian immigrant named Vincenzo walked into what was once a location of a growing pizzeria chain called Riccardo’s. With a dream in his heart and recipes passed down through generations, he bought the Beverly store—not for its name, but for what it could become: a place where the community could gather, laugh, and share a slice of something real.
Vincenzo’s passion for food and family set the foundation. He brought the warmth of Sicily to South Jersey—serving up classic pies with handmade dough, rich sauces, and bold, comforting flavors that quickly made Riccardo’s a local favorite.
In 1998, Vincenzo handed the business over to his son, Frank, who carried that same torch with pride. But it wasn’t always easy.

Weathering the Storm
When the 2008 recession hit, small businesses everywhere were closing their doors. For a moment, Riccardo’s future looked uncertain. But Frank dug deep, staying true to the principles his father taught him: work hard, treat people right, and never sacrifice quality. Through grit and heart, he kept the ovens hot and the lights on.
And then something incredible happened.
A New Generation, A New Era
Frank’s son Tony joined the family business, bringing with him new ideas, fresh energy, and an eye for innovation. Together, they doubled down—refining the menu, strengthening customer service, and building a brand rooted in authenticity and creativity.
Through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Riccardo’s didn’t just survive—they thrived. The father-son team pivoted, adapted, and found new ways to serve their community when people needed it most.
In 2024, Riccardo’s proudly celebrated 50 years of family, flavor, and South Jersey spirit.
What Riccardo’s Is Today
Now, Tony and Frank run Riccardo’s side by side—keeping the old-school recipes alive while adding new twists that keep people coming back. From creative wing sauces and specialty pies to milkshakes, desserts, and seasonal innovations, there’s always something exciting to try.
But at its core, Riccardo’s is still about the same things: Great food. Real people. And a whole lot of love.
Whether you’ve been coming here since the ‘70s or just discovered us on your lunch break, when you walk into Riccardo’s, you’re family.
